Abstract
The distribution of Talitrus saltator, Talorchestia deshayesii and Tal orchestia ugolinii in Corsica has been investigated. T. saltator occur s on almost all the coasts of Corsica, T. ugolinii only on the central part of the east coast, whilst T. deshayesii only on the west. Tests for solar orientation, textural choice, survival in the water, and rep roduction rate show a higher ecological valency in T. saltator than in the other two species, which could explain its widespread distributio n.
