Abstract
The title structure, Pb(HSeO3)(2), consists of layers of Pb-O polyhedr a connected into a two-dimensional network by Se atoms. The layers are parallel to the bc plane and are not interconnected by chemical bonds . Hydrogen bonding between layers is improbable. The coordination poly hedron of Pb consists of eight O atoms in the form of a square antipri sm, with all Pb-O distances less than 3.0 Angstrom. There is no appare nt lone-pair effect on the lead ion.
