Abstract
The title complex, bis(2,4-dinitrophenolato-O,O-2)(2,2',2 ''-nitrilotr iethanol-N,O,O',O '')calcium(II), [Ca(C6H3N2O5)(2)(C6H15NO3)], is mono meric and the Ca2+ ion is eight-coordinate. Both dinitrophenolate liga nds coordinate to the metal ion by their phenolic O atoms and one O at om of the ortho-nitro group. Ca is further coordinated by all the O at oms and the N atom of triethanolamine, the O atoms of which are also h ydrogen-bond donors. The phenolic O atoms and one O atom of a para-nit ro group take part in intermolecular hydrogen bonding.
