Bd. Barker et al., PHOSPHATING OF STEEL AND THE EFFECTS OF GALVANIC COUPLING TO ZINC ANDZINC-BASED COATINGS, Arabian journal for science and engineering, 20(2), 1995, pp. 343-359
Potential-time curves, scanning electron microscopy, and X-ray diffrac
tion techniques are used to study the development of phosphate layers
on steel. The effects of galvanic coupling of the steel to various are
as of zinc metal is considered. Particular attention is paid to the bo
undary region between steel and differing types of zinc coating. The d
evelopment of phosphate growth and its phase composition are found to
be significantly altered by both physical and galvanic effects.
