Abstract
A procedure was developed for establish the confidence intervals for p oint estimates of a quantitative measure of similarity of genomes. Rea sons for its use in genetic studies are demonstrated. The algorithm fo r this procedure and derivation of calculating formulas are described. Results of testing them using simulation genetic experiments are show n. As an example, interval estimates of the similarity measures for th ree genomes have been obtained.
