Six supaeromaculata mutant lines, K11, K333, K456, K469, K555, and K58
2, induced in pea of variety Torsdag, were crossed with the initial va
riety for determining the type of inheritance and with one another (te
sts for allelism). It was found that these lines are recessive monogen
ic mutants differing in the expression of the mutant trait. All the mu
tants are allelic. Identical alleles were found in lines K11 and K582
and in lines K456 and K469. It is concluded that gene aero has a serie
s of multiple alleles: aero(1) (K11 and K582)-aero(2) (K333)-aero(3) (
k555)-aero(4) (K456 and K469) - Aero (wild type)., Judging from the pr
oduction of beans, alleles aero(1) and aero(2), both in the hetero- an
d homozygous state, have a more favorable effect on plants.
