Abstract
We investigate the intersubband transitions of a quasi-one-dimensional electron gas, quantum-confined in a quantum-well wire, in the presenc e of a magnetic field. Treating the many-particle effects in the rando m phase approximation, we find that for finite magnetic fields additio nal intersubband resonances exist, which are absent for zero and high magnetic fields. The resulting depolarization shifts are examined in d etail.
