V. Carbone et al., SIGN-SINGULAR MEASURES IN RANDOM-FIELDS - AN EXAMPLE FROM DIELECTRIC TESTING PARTICLES IN ELECTRO-CONVECTIVE TURBULENCE, Europhysics letters, 32(1), 1995, pp. 31-35
Buoyant dielectric testing particles in turbulent convective flows are
subject to periods where stickings and flights alternate randomly, du
e to the appearance of vortices of different amplitudes. The alternati
ng behaviour can be seen as an oscillating motion with random period.
By using measurements from dielectric testing particles in Nematic Liq
uid Crystal films under electro-convective turbulence, we investigate
the phenomenon of sign-singularity in the random oscillating motion by
measuring the cancellation exponents in different convective regimes.
