P. Barbe et al., EXPERIMENTAL AND MODELING STUDY OF METHANE AND ETHANE OXIDATION BETWEEN 773 AND 1573 K, Journal de chimie physique et de physico-chimie biologique, 92(9), 1995, pp. 1666-1692
This paper describes an experimental and modelling study of the oxidat
ion of methane and ethane, in an isothermal perfectly stirred reactor
and a tubular flow reactor, at atmospheric pressure and temperatures b
etween 773 and 1573 K. A particular effort has been made to build the
mechanism, used for this modelling, in the most comprehensive way. Thi
s mechanism has been generated in a systematic way; it includes all th
e unimolecular or bimolecular reactions involving radicals or molecule
s containing less than three carbon atoms and is based on kinetic data
values which are mostly obtained from the data evaluations ((1-3)) re
cently published in the literature and consistent with the thermochemi
stry.
