SYNTHESIS AND STUDY OF POLYHETEROARYLENES WITH AZO GROUPS IN THE BACKONE

Monomers containing azo groups (azophthalic and azoanthranilic acids) were obtained by electrochemical reduction of 4-nitrozosubstituted pht halic and anthranilic acids with the yield greater than 90%. The low-t emperature condensation polymerization of the monomers was studied in amide solvents. The optimum conditions were found for the synthesis of homo- and copolyamic acids with colors ranging from yellow to wine-re d. The solid-state thermal cyclization of polyamic acids in vacuum yie lds the corresponding polyimides and polybenzoxazinones, some of which exhibit semiconducting properties.
