Abstract
The thermodynamic properties of ,1,3-trihydrotetrafluoropropyl-alpha-c yanoacrylate and ,3-trihydrotetrafluoropropyl-alpha-cyanoacrylate), th e temperature dependence of the heat capacities of monomer and polymer in the temperature intervals 11 - 330 and 7 - 530 K, respectively, an d the thermodynamic parameters of physical transitions in monomer and polymer were studied by adiabatic, dynamic, and isothermal calorimetri c techniques. The anomalous variation of the heat capacities of monome r and polymer are related to the specific features of their structure and composition. Using the experimental calorimetric data, the thermod ynamic functions H-0(T)-H-0(0), S-0(T), G(0)(T)-H-0(0) in the temperat ure interval from 0 to 330 - 350 K, the parameters of the glass transi tion and the properties of the glassy polymer were calculated. The ent halpy of polymerization far bulk polymerization of liquid monomer at 3 35 K was measured by direct calorimetric method. The calorimetric data are also employed in order to calculate the enthalpy, entropy, and th e Gibbs function for bulk polymerization of ,1,3-trihydrotetrafluoropr opyl-alpha-cyanoacrylate at 0 - 520 K, and to estimate the upper criti cal temperature of polymerization at the standard pressure (p = 101.32 5 kPa).
