RHEOLOGICAL BEHAVIOR OF THE SOLUTIONS OF POLY(BUTYL METHACRYLATE-CO-METHACRYLIC ACID)

Rheological properties of alcohol solutions of poly(butyl methacrylate -co-methacrilic acid), which was obtained by polymerization in solutio n, were studied. Anomalous viscous properties of the solutions were ob served. They were shown to be controlled by both the traditional facto rs (such as concentration and molecular mass) by the composition homog eneity. The viscosity of the solutions of compositionally homogeneous copolymers is greater than that of compositionally heterogeneous copol ymers in all cases, other conditions being the same. The dependences o f solution viscosity on the concentration and molecular mass of the co polymers were studied.
