Y. Li et Jns. Evans, THE IMPORTANCE OF XY-8 PHASE CYCLING IN THE ROTATIONAL-ECHO DOUBLE-RESONANCE EXPERIMENT WITH TOTAL SIDE-BAND SUPPRESSION, Journal of magnetic resonance. Series A, 116(2), 1995, pp. 150-155
This paper describes a theoretical study of the XY-8 phase cycling met
hod used in many solid-state NMR experiments. It has been found that X
Y-8 phase cycling can compensate errors up to the second order in the
expansion of the average Hamiltonian. The result has been used to disc
uss the REDORTOSS experiment. A general method to overcome problems du
e to chemical-shift anisotropy in the REDOR experiment is also discuss
ed. It is recommended that nuclei with large chemical-shift anisotropi
es should be detected with the observable channel and the REDORTOSS me
thod used to eliminate the sidebands. (C) 1995 Academic Press, Inc.
