E. Kakaras et D. Giannakopoulos, MODELING OF FLUE-GAS DESULFURIZATION USING DRY ADDITIVES, Chemical engineering and processing, 34(5), 1995, pp. 421-432
The objective of this work is to investigate the behavior of the two m
ain mathematical models used for the estimation of SO2 reduction with
the application of the dry additive method. The shrinking-core and por
e-tree models for the conversion of the reactant CaO to CaSO4 are test
ed for various parameters such as SO2 concentration, temperature of th
e flue gas, porosity and diameter of the sorbent particles. Furthermor
e, a comparison between the accuracy of predictions of these two model
s, using experimental test cases, is presented in this paper.
