J. Faix et al., PDCSA VECTORS FOR STRICTLY REGULATED PROTEIN-SYNTHESIS DURING EARLY DEVELOPMENT OF DICTYOSTELIUM-DISCOIDEUM, Plasmid, 34(2), 1995, pp. 148-151
Two expression vectors have been constructed to express proteins exclu
sively in developing cells of Dictyostelium discoideum. In these Esche
richia coli/D. discoideum shuttle vectors, proteins are synthesized un
der control of the promoter of the contact site A (csA) gene, which is
efficiently suppressed during growth and becomes strongly activated d
uring early development of D. discoideum. The pDcsA vectors appear to
be valuable tools for the production of proteins that are not compatib
le with growth of D. discoideum cells. (C) 1995 Academic Press, Inc.
