Abstract
Traditional two-bed solid-sorbent sorption heat pumps have no partitio ns within the beds. During the operation of a solid-sorbent sorption h eat pump, ammonia readsorption (i.e., ammonia reallocation from one en d of a bed to the other) occurs within the beds, which is detrimental to system performance. One way to reduce the ammonia reallocation with in a bed is to put partitions in a bed to divide the bed into several segments and reduce the cross-communication of ammonia within a bed. I n this paper, the effect of the partitions on the performance of a sor ption heat pump system is investigated.
