Abstract
The Haystack Observatory 37 m telescope has been used to search for th e CO J=1-0 line reported by Tsuboi & Nakai [PASJ, 46, L179 (1994)] fro m the z=2.286 infrared galaxy/quasar IRAS F10214+4724. The Line was no t detected, with a 3 sigma upper limit on the line strength nearly a f actor of 3 below the value reported by those authors. If this result i s correct, the high mass of low density gas implied by the previous me asurement is not indicated. (C) 1995 American Astronomical Society.
