Abstract
N,N-bis(Trimethylsilyl)alkenesulfenamide 3, prepared by the reaction o f trans-alkenesulfenates with TMSCI and LiHMDS, are modified to their corresponding S-alkenylthiophthalimides 6 which are then converted to alkenesulfenamides 7 bearing more general nitrogen functionality.
