Abstract
Ethyl 2-benzyloxy-3,3-difluoropropenoate 3, prepared from the readily obtainable ethyl trifluoropyruvate, reacts with a variety of nucleophi les to give beta-fluoro-alpha-keto acid derivatives in high yield.
