Abstract
Metallation of diphenylphosphine with ZnEt(2) (5:3 equiv.) in thf prod uces {[EtZn(u-PPh(2))](3) .(HPPh(2))(2) . thf} 1, which is shown by X- ray crystallography to have a Zn3P3 core in which Ph(2)PH ligands act as donors to two of the zinc centres.
