Abstract
Nurse-managed, voluntary community health centers are thought to repre sent cost-effective means of providing healthcare to the medically ind igent. A cost analysis of a community healthcare clinic indicates that the cost of a clinic visit may be more expensive than the cost of a c ommunity physician visit when all costs (real and donated) are include d. Increasing the number of patients seen per hour may be necessary to achieve more cost-effective delivery.
