Abstract
Seventy-six cementless primary total knee arthroplasties using the Pre ss Fit Condylar (PFC) total knee arthroplasty system were performed on 60 consecutive patients between May 1986 and January 1990. Mean follo w-up time after total knee arthroplasty was 3.9 years (range, 24-72 mo nths), with an average Knee Society Knee Score rating preoperatively o f 52.96 +/- 14.67 and postoperatively of 93.71 +/- 9.59. The average K nee Society function score preoperatively was 40.41 +/- 17.58 and post operatively was 93.51 +/- 10.82. Lucencies of greater than or equal to 1 mm were present at the prosthesis or patellar components in 36 of t he knees examined. However, despite the presence of radiolucencies, th e clinical outcome remained excellent.
