Abstract
Quantum jumps have been observed some years ago on single ions and ver y recently on single terrylene molecules. In our paper we will demonst rate that such quantum jumps are also observable if the excitation las er is scanned through the resonance line of a single terrylene molecul e embedded in a p-terphenyl crystal. Moreover, we will show that the d etermination of the intersystem crossing parameters of terrylene molec ules is greatly facilitated by analyzing the observed quantum jumps.
