DRUGS AND FOOD CONTAMINANTS AFFECTING REP RODUCTIVE-SYSTEM IN PIGS

This review paper deals with the characteristics and properties of rep roductive system, mammmary gland and placental barrier for drug transf er in pigs, and the adverse effects of drugs. The undesirable effect e valuation of drugs acting on the reproductive system (regulators of fe rtility, promoters of gonadal function, sex hormones, prostaglandins, myometrial stimulants and relaxants) and those used for uterine and ma mmary infections and for disorders of the urinary tract is described. In addition, some food contaminants that affect the reproductive syste m in pigs are also included.
