ANIMAL RABIES IN FRANCE - 1991, 1992 AND 1993 - RESULTS FROM THE LABORATORY FOR STUDIES ON RABIES AND WILD ANIMALS PATHOLOGY IN NANCY-MALZEVILLE

Among 14 795 samples received during 1991, 1992 and 1993 for rabies di agnosis by the laboratory, 2 667 were found positive (18 p. 100). The samples were routinely tested by direct immunofluorescence and by the mouse neuroblastoma cell culture technique. Some of them were also tes ted by an immunoenzymatic technique. The comparative sensitivities of these methods are discussed.
