Abstract
We propose an impulsive model for the interaction between two alkali h alide molecules. The excitation functions for various channels of the reactions RbBr+RbBr, CsBr+CsBr, RbCl+CsI, and RbI+CsCl obtained within this model exhibit a qualitative agreement with the results of exact quasiclassical trajectory calculations.
