Eaj. Rauws et al., NEW APPROACHES TO ENDOSCOPIC THERAPY FOR HEMOSTASIS OF UPPER GI BLEED, Scandinavian journal of gastroenterology, 30, 1995, pp. 90-95
Hematemesis and/or melena are the most common presentations of upper g
astrointestinal bleeding. Endoscopic hemostasis after diagnosis still
remains a challenge to the gastroenterologist. Most variceal and pepti
c ulcer bleeding episodes stop spontaneously, and then prevention of r
ebleeding might be indicated by endoscopic techniques. Four not so wel
l known endoscopic hemostasis techniques are discussed and comparative
studies are reviewed.
