Abstract
The Williamson reaction between (R,S)-[1,1'-binaphthyl]-2,2'-diol 1 an d (R,S)-2,2'-bis (bromomethyl)-1,1' binaphthyl 2 in acetone, gave the diastereoisomeric dioxacyclophanes (R,S*)-3a and (R*,R*)-3b in high y ield.
