Abstract
Change in hair diameter which follows skin irradiation is the basis of proposed biological dosimetry technique. Proton microprobe analysis w as used to explore the relationship between changes in hair elemental composition and received dose. Due to significant variations in elemen tal concentrations among different hairs and non-uniform elemental rad ial distribution, a relationship between received dose and elemental c oncentrations could not be confirmed. However, most of the elements st udied showed an increase in concentration after the irradiation period .
