Abstract
In this paper, we compare the quantitative analyses of some mineral sa mples by proton microbeam (micro-PIXE) with that of the electron probe microanalysis (EPMA). The advantages and disadvantages of the two tec hniques for quantitative analyses of mineral samples are discussed. Th e results of some experiments are presented.
