Abstract
Janetia curviapicis sp. nov., occurring on submerged wood in Australia , is described and illustrated. It differs from the previously describ ed Janetia species in the curved or circinate apices of the conidia. T his new species is compared and contrasted with the other 16 species d escribed in the genus. An expanded generic concept is introduced to in clude species with one or more of the following characteristics: synne matal conidiomata; monoblastic conidiogenous cells; schizolytic conidi al secession; distoseptate, obclavate conidia; mycophilic habitat. A d ichotomous key to the 15 accepted species of the genus is provided.
