Abstract
A new type of nonlinear optical (NLO) polymer for second harmonic gene ration is presented. This type of NLO polymer has a large dipole momen t which is aligned transverse to the main chain. Poled polymer shows a large second order nonlinearity of 1.6x10(-7) esu (67 pm/V). Good the rmal stability of nonlinearity was observed in ambient condition. (C) 1995 American Institute of Physics.
