Abstract
An unsuspected giant fusiform aneurysm arising from the intracavernous segment of the internal carotid artery associated with a growth-hormo ne secreting pituitary adenoma is presented. The aneurysm was diagnose d with MRI using conventional spin-echo sequences, however, contrast-e nhanced MRA permitted a better depiction of its relation with the caro tid artery. The MR angiography technique may add useful information to conventional MRI in the preoperative assessment of pituitary tumours.
