M. Ahmed et al., MICRO-PIXE MEASUREMENT OF NICKEL DISTRIBUTION IN SUPPORTED NICKEL-OXIDE CATALYST, Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research. Section B, Beam interactions with materials and atoms, 103(2), 1995, pp. 233-235
Microbeam PIXE technique was used to measure nickel distribution on in
dividual silica particles, 60-200 mu m in sizes, in nickel oxide catal
ysts supported on a silica base. A 2.5 MeV scanning proton microbeam o
f about 5 mu m resolution was used. The catalysts were synthesized wit
h 1% and 5% nickel loadings and then calcined at 400 degrees C. Effect
s of the nickel loadings and the calcination treatment on the nickel d
istribution were studied.
