Abstract
A model allowing the effective computation of the transient behaviour of deep squirrel cage induction motors is detailed. The principle of t he model is that the coupling between the rotor and the stator is made only by the fundamental space harmonic, the other harmonics are force d to vanish through the air gap. The main interest is that in the time step method only the fundamental space harmonic has to be transferred , which allows larger steps than in a punctual transfer. This method c an be used when non linearities exist but it is detailed in the paper in the linear case.
