Abstract
Detailed plasma simulation is needed for the interpretation of neutron energy spectra measured during deuterium neutral beam injection. Resu lts from a comparatively fast, dedicated package of computer codes for simulation and analysis of line-integrated time-dependent neutron ene rgy spectra are presented. The analysis comprises time-dependent simul ation calculations for several JET discharges which cover a wide range of plasma conditions. The simulated spectra are shown to be in good a greement with the measured data. By using measured and simulated neutr on spectra the deuteron temperature can be inferred, under well define d circumstances. Results are confirmed by independent measurements.
