Abstract
In this paper, a new method that is developed for node numbering in a finite element mesh has been introduced. In this new semi-automatic me thod, one or more node(s) must be defined as ''starting node(s)''. Sui table selection of starting node(s), has a severe effect on effectiven ess of this method. Therefore, some rules are stated for a suitable se lection of starting node(s). After the method is described, its effect iveness is shown through some examples. One of these examples is compa red to a previously published work by A. Kaven. This shows high effici ency and reliability of the new method which is called: ''The frontal node numbering method''.
