Abstract
The usefulness of a new non-destructive and non-invasive method based on the 'knife edge' detection technique for monitoring the contraction , expansion, amplitude and frequency of beating hearts is discussed. T he sample used to demonstrate the potentiality of this method was an e arly embryonic heart of about 600 mu m in size.
