Schwannoma of the posterior pharyngeal wall, in a 36-year-old male pat
ient is presented demonstrating the asymptomatic nature of the tumour
(which is peculiar to schwannomas). The tumour gradually increased in
size, destroyed the body of the third cervical vertebra but remained a
symptomatic. The patient only presented to hospital when the tumour ob
structed the airway, because of its large size.
