The surface activities and foaming performences of omega-chloro, gamma
-oxaperfluorodecanoic acid (ClCF) and its mixture with octyltrimethyla
mmonium bromide (C8N) have been investigated, ClCF and the mixture sho
w high surface activity with very low cmc and gamma(cmc). The aqueous
solution of ClCF performs good foaming ability. However, the mixture o
f ClCF-C8N system is quite different from that of perfluorocarboxylic
acid and C8N system showing the particular effect of the omega-chloro
group.
