Ra. Kostyaev et Ds. Pashkevich, ROLE OF HYDROGEN-FLUORIDE AND COBALT DIFLUORIDE IN FLUORINATION OF HYDROCARBONS WITH COBALT TRIFLUORIDE, Russian journal of applied chemistry, 67(12), 1994, pp. 1759-1763
Fluorination of difluoromethane (CF2H2), trifluoromethane (CF3H), and
pentafluoroethane (C2F5H) with cobalt trifluoride has been experimenta
lly studied. The catalytic and inhibiting role of hydrogen fluoride (H
F) has been examined. A catalysis mechanism has been proposed. The tem
perature interval in which HF influences the process has been determin
ed. The role of diffusion of the reactants through the bed of the form
ing solid reaction product, cobalt difluoride, has been examined.
