Abstract
A new method is proposed for the design of multiplierless two-channel two-dimensional linear-phase FIR filter banks in this paper. The metho d associates effectively the Lagrange multiplier approach and a tree s earch algorithm. For both the analysis filter pair and the synthesis f ilter pair, the filter coefficients all are represented in powers-of-t wo code, which reduces the complexity for the manufacture of the VLSI. Numerical design examples are presented to demonstrate the usefulness and efficiency of the algorithm.
