ALGORITHM-ARCHITECTURE CO-DESIGN BY EXAMPLE - A COPROCESSOR FOR ONLINE ARITHMETIC

Domain specific architectures gain more and more attention in high per formance applications, when general purpose processors are not capable of achieving the desired throughput. The algorithms to be implemented strongly influence the architecture of the design and vice versa. A s ystematic approach based on provably correct transformations, herein c alled Algorithm-Architecture Co-design, will be demonstrated on the de sign of a processor for long integer arithmetic.
