A 30-year-old woman had uterine bleeding and hypotension after deliver
y, Hyponatremic seizures and a mild headache prompted early neuroimagi
ng, which disclosed an enlarged nonhemorrhagic pituitary gland with su
bsequent involution consistent with pituitary apoplexy (Sheehan syndro
me). Endocrinologic investigation confirmed a partial pituitary insuff
iciency with subsequent improvement to almost normal status.
