Sc. Zhang et al., CHARACTERIZATION OF TITANIUM-OXIDE ENCAPSULATED ZEOLITES AND ITS PHOTOCATALYTIC APPLICATION FOR NO DECOMPOSITION, Denki Kagaku Oyobi Kogyo Butsuri Kagaku, 63(10), 1995, pp. 927-931
Titanium oxide-encapsulated X and Y zeolites were prepared by ion exch
ange with (NH4)2TiO(C2O4)2. The obtained zeolites were characterized b
y means of XRD, FT-IR, XPS, UV-vis and photoluminescence spectroscopie
s. By the introduction of TiO2+ ions, the zeolites exhibited adsorptio
n and photoluminescence bands and became sensitive to UV irradiation.
A high catalytic activity of NO decomposition was obtained at room tem
perature under UV irradiation. The major products in the presence of o
xygen were N2 and N2O. In reference experiments of TiO2 powder signifi
cant production of NO2 was observed.
