Abstract
[2-(Dimethylaminomethyl)ferrocenyl]lithium (FcN)Li (I) reacts with anh ydrous thallium(I) chloride under conditions of a disproportionation t o give the compound tris[2-(dimethylaminomethyl)ferrocenyl]thallium (I I). An intensive characterization of II was carried out by IR, H-1-NMR , UV-VIS, MoBbauer and mass spectroscopies. The X-ray analysis proves that the heterobimetallic organothallium compound II is a mixed chelat e complex, in which only one FcN group is chelated to the thallium ato m.
