Abstract
1,3,5-Tribenzyl-1,3,5-triazacyclohexane ('Bz(3)TAC') and 1,3,5-tricycl ohexyl-1,3,5-triazacyclohex ('Cy(3)TAC') react with CrCl3(THF)(3) to t he corresponding complexes (Bz(3)TAC)CrCl3 (1a) and (Cy(3)TAC)CrCl3 (1 b). These react with benzyl sodium in toluene to the tribenzylchromium (III) complexes (Bz(3)TAC)Cr(CH(2)Ph)(3) (2a) and (Cy(3)TAC)Cr(CH(2)Ph )(3) (2b). The crystal and molecular structure of 2b . 1.5 toluene has been determined by X-ray diffraction.
