Abstract
The preparation of a new iodine(III) compound, trifluormethyliodinechl oridefluoride CF3I(Cl)F, via oxidative addition of trifluoromethylhypo chlorite CF3OCl to trifluoromethyliodide CF3I is described. The thermo labile compound has been characterized by i.r., Raman, F-19 NMR, and m ass spectroscopy.
