Abstract
Monomeric trimethylstannyl pyrroles, Me(3)Sn-R (Me = CH3 and R = -NC4H 4, -NC(4)H(2)Me(2)-2,5, -NC(4)Me(4)-2,3,4,5, -C(4)H(3)NMe-1), are synt hesized by metathesis reactions from Me(3)SnCl with 1(N)- and 2(C)-lit hium pyrroles, respectively. An almost similar procedure gives monomer ic dimethylstannylbis(pyrroles), Me(2)SnR(2) (1a-3a), from Me(2)SnCl(2 ) and 1-Li-pyrrolides (1:2 molar ratio) in good yields. Lithiated 1,2, 5-trimethylpyrrole and Me(3)SnCl forms the compound Me(3)Sn-CH2-C(4)H( 2)Me(-5)NMe (8), the reaction of Me(2)SnCl(2) with 2-lithium-1-methylp yrrole gives oligomeric [Me(2)Sn-C(2)H(2)NMe-](x), (6a). The mass-, NM R, and vibrational spectra have been measured and discussed. The resul ts of the X-ray structure determinations of Me(3)Sn-NC4H4 (1) and Me(2 )Sn(-NC(4)Me(4))(2) (3a) are compared with the structures of the known dimethylmetal pyrroles of Al, Ga, and In.
