D. Riehl et al., 2ND-ORDER OPTICAL NONLINEARITIES OF AZO CHROMOPHORES COVALENTLY ATTACHED TO A SOL-GEL MATRIX, Chemical physics letters, 245(1), 1995, pp. 36-40
Optically nonlinear disperse red 1 (DR1) was covalently bound into a s
ilica gel network by the coupling of DR1 and 3-isocyanatopropyltrietho
xysilane. Organic-inorganic hybrid materials present a large resonant
second-order susceptibility (d(33) = 55 pm/V for a fundamental wavelen
gth of 1.06 mu m) with an excellent room-temperature stability.
